SANPARKS Visitor Survey

Posted on Thu April 23, 2020.

SANParks has launched a study to gauge tourists’ intentions to travel to South African national parks post lockdown. While opinions, feelings and plans are all dependent on external conditions and personal circumstances that might change very quickly in the immediate future, it will provide them with some indication of how individuals feel about travel right now. The study is anticipated to be repeated again in 3 or 6 months’ time to see whether travel plans have changed since lockdown was lifted.

Dear Valued Client,

We trust that you and your family are safe and healthy in this upside down world we find ourselves in.

Tourism has for many years been the cornerstone of financial sustainability to protected areas in South Africa. We believe tourism, as one of many industries that have been severely hit by the COVID-19 pandemic’s consequences, will eventually recover, but it is uncertain as to how long this recovery will take.

South African National Parks has launched a study to try and understand how you, the tourist, feel about future travel to South Africa’s national parks.

We understand that your opinions, feelings and plans are all dependent on conditions and personal circumstances that might change very quickly in the immediate future, but we require your inputs to help us gauge where travel intentions sit at the moment. Please consider answering the questionnaire even if you have no immediate plans to visit our parks again.

By doing so, you stand a chance to WIN 2 nights’ accommodation for 2 people in any of our national parks! Note the competition closes 1 May 2020.
